  • Rubber bung fell in

    Hi,

I am making a batch of Beaverdale red and at the final stage my bored rubber bung didn't fit very well and then using a vacuum pump to de-gas I have managed to push it into the 5g glass vessel. It had petroleum jelly on it. Should I get it out quickly...it has sunk. Or can I let the wine clear, probably another 3-4 days and remove it when I bottle?

    Thanks,
    Steve

I would leave it there. can I ask why the petroleum jelly?
