  • "Vintners Harvest" yeast?

went to my homebrew shop yesterday and noticed a new selection of yeasts called "Vintners Harvest" (described here). The company's website has some impresive information regarding the strains...but the proof of the pudding's in the eating. So anyone got any experience of these yeasts?

      OOOOO

      its working now

they seem to be the same range of yeasties packaged by Lalvin and Gervin, the characteristics appear to be similar anyhow

      look quite good.

        I like this:

Even if I dont use their yeasts it's a handy starter guide on what style of yeast to use for what style of wine.

See what you mean about the web site Bob....but very interesting!

The vegetable strains SN9 and CL23 caught my eye.....just the job for my parsnip

These was my thoughts also. They say that they've worked with thousands of fermentations from commercial producers. But the range does appear to be very similar to that of Lalvin and Gervin (is this coincidence or do they have a common ancestry?).

If they do have a common ancestry, I'd like to know how they equate. For example: is their CL23 comparible to EC1118, or their MA33 with 71B?

It looks to be a nice range of yeasts

They do seem to have a good range of variation.......

Though so do Lalvin, even if it's not one of the "usual suspects", if you look to the US, even with the postage, they're not badly priced (the rarer/more unusual lalvin ones that is)........

                Hey ho!

                regards
