Bel Vino

Has anyone tried the Bel Vino wine kits?
I used the Beaverdale kits in the past with good success & was wondering if these are any good.

Hi Colin, and welcome, I also must say I have not made these either, but the name does ring a bell, are they 1 or 5 gallon kits ?

Hi Colin, welcome to the forum. I have two of these kits sat here ready to have a go at but as yet, no i havent made one.

They are a 5 Gallon kit that comes with a dried fruit pack. You re hydrate this and start you wine, think you also need more sugar adding. The ones i have are a piesporter and chardonnay. They retail for about £15 which isnt bad for a 30 bottle kit even if i takes a few kilos of sugar, still only about 55p a bottle.

Sorry folks these are kits that are not sold in Canada at least as far as I know. The Selection kits outlined in this link are and the price is comparable to here and some of these are quite good. Interesting about the dried fruit kits and the kits that you add sugar to. Cheers Daw

I made one a while back, not as good as the beaverdale range, but made quaff-able wine nonetheless.

At more than half the price of Beaverdale I think I might try one.

You might also want to have a look at the Magnum range, being sold by Morrison's supermarkets £20-£25 a go, no sugar additions necessary, makes a very passable wine, and good value
