I soooo wish I had done that, when I made my earlier batches of Wine#1.....as I "burst" that I had made it, prior to the "taste"Originally posted by modofodo View PostA glass from the first bottled batch of WN1. I am impressed and have purchased far inferior wines, infact I will do some testing with unsuspecting visitors in the next few weeks. WN1 batch 2 (gooseberry) and 3 (lychee) will be started soon!
Thanks!
It will be interesting to hear how you get on.

The thermostat seems to be about 13-15C out
to achieve 72 Deg I had to set it at 85
it wont achieve a rolling boil with the lid off
but hey!...it was £39
so i will adapt to fit it

Hope it all goes well for you with the lidl boiler. Could you let me know how you get on? Are you using any modifications to the standard boiler as there has been a lot of discussion on JBK about them.Originally posted by lockwood1956 View PostAfter some boiler truamas......

my Pils is finally on to boil...
only need to boil for 90 mins, cool and pitch yeast, then I can neck the IPA sat waiting for me

brandy and ginger ale (pint glass)
which is just excellent, after a hot afternoon sitting watching Harlequins RL Vs Wigan at The Stoop (unsurprisingly, Wigan won), followed by the drive back and F&C's for nose bag.........

A wine tasting at a local bar last night so, like Steve, lots of different wines. Nothing I would run out and buy though

Another Lychee from the same batch as the corked bottle. This one is fine.
Folloowed by a 2008 cabardes. Really good, peppery liquorice sort of thing

2006 Monte Antico Toscana Sangiovese-Merlot-Cabernet blend. Wow. This is hands down the best 10 buck wine I've ever tasted.
