  • The half gallon DJ's (again).

Ok, I've spoken to Bob about this, so hence the post.

In 2 weeks time, we're due to be visiting the Lancastrian relatives.

So as there will be some space in the car, I was intending (if they're wanted) too cram as many of the half gallon DJ's in as I can.

Obviously, I can't say how many I can fit into the car (a 2 door BMW compact), but if there's a few "I'll have some" type answers, then we can work out how/where to meet up to collect.

We'll be staying in Heysham, which I know, would mean crossing the Pennines for "the Yorkshire massive", but it's a hell of a lot closer than the South Coast.

I have PM Scott, but not received an answer whether he's interested or not (afterall, he's already somewhere in Lancashire).

As before, they do need washing, but seem to clean up great with a little bleach, soap and a final rinse with some citric acid solution to remove any water marks/calcified deposits.

I was thinking in the region of 30 pence a piece or 2 for 50p. Though I doubt whether any reasonable offer would be turned down (so no they won't be going back south, unless they're in a recycling wagon).

I'm guessing that I can get between 50 and a 100 in the car.

    Anyone interested ?

    regards

    JtFB

p.s. I know that there are likely to be others passing vaguely in my normal direction over the summer, but there's probably gonna be plenty left - don't forget, the job lot I got, was just over 400 of them

is that the weekend of the 21/22nd John?

Which way you coming up? We may be down at the in laws, J5 of the M42 (just before the NEC) do you go up the 42 and over the top of B'ham or even the M6 toll?

Heysham might be a little far for me, as I was planning on finding you at the end of July down south!

We're gonna drive up on the Sunday (22nd) Rich, so either way, it doesn't matter other than to avoid any traffic - so I'm thinking along the lines of the M6 toll - I can't think of which services are closest after Warwick off the top of my head - but either way I can PM you my mobile number etc to sort out a meet - plus you can always pop in on the way back from your course or whatever at the end of Jul - that might make it easier ?

        Outstanding.

I'll stick a couple of dozen or so in the car then Bob. Plus when I PM Rich with my mobile I'll copy you in as well that way, you'll be welcome whenever you can make it etc etc.

        regards

If your coming up the M40, there isn't any services northbound until your on the M6 toll I believe. Could well be wrong though! Not confirmed yet that we're going to the in laws, but if we are, There could be a cup of tea and a loo just off the M42 for you! Will find out middle of next week I reckon.

Ok, well it's sometime on the 22nd that we're due to travel up. So a bit closer to the time, I'll PM about that, along with my mobile number and we can see what's occuring.

Shouldn't be a problem - we might have to sort out a meet or liaise with Bob/Richard_S etc to see if it's better about driving/meeting/etc.

                  As above Richard.

Not being too familiar with Yorkshire I'm not sure how far everyone might be apart, so we'll have to think on what's gonna be best for linking up etc.

Though there should be plenty of time to sort that out.

                  regards

Do they take the same size bung as the 1 gal DJ's ?

                            havent tried yet.....

but i "think" they have a slightly smaller opening....

so you need to work hard to get the normal bung in...or buy cork bungs

                            regards
