    Hey ,

    I,ll looking at starting a Mead using orange and mango juice .
    I have a Gervin varital D and K1-V1116 packets in the fridge , which would be best to use ?

    My preference of the two would be the Lalvin 1116. It will be a sure fermenter, and is quite neutral.

      you cant make mead from orange and mango.......

      mead is made with honey..... if you used honey and added other fruit, it would be a melomel.

      do you mean to add the orange and mango juice to honey?

      or have i misunderstood? some more detail in the original post will help us to help you better

        Yes I,m going to add Orange and mango juice to the honey
        along with a vanilla pod .

          Of the 2 suggested, K1V-1116 would be my preference.

          Plus, it depends how "fruity" tasting you want the melomel, as to when you actually "add" the fruit juice.

          One of the better guides around and about, would be here. Worth the read IMO.

            I made a K1V-1116 starter and it mean going like a goodin since saturday now .
