  • 2007 Montepulciano

Started a yeast starter this evening, to pitch into the must tomorrow.

    8 tsp sugar
    1 tsp Tronozymol energiser/nutrient
1/2 tsp Citric acid (yeasties like acid environments)
Pitched 3 pkt Ritchie's connoisseur Valpolicella yeast

It took off instantly, and I had to quickly take the photo before it overflowed. (photo is less thn 5 minutes after yeast was pitched in!)

seperated it into two bottles, and keeping an eye on it as it is going crazy

never had a starter take off like this before.

    ITS ALIVE!

Its three sachets of Valpollicella yeast Ritchie's connoisseur, to go into the grapes this afternoon, here we are at 5.15am drinking a cup of tea before another grape episode begins
Rich and I are off to Potters bar (London) to pick up the grapes, Karl will be there when we get back, for crushing of reds and crushing and pressing of the whites.
          Pictures to follow (obviosly)

          regards

Yes, I agree. One day, I hope I'll be able to use a destemmer/crusher, but until then, I must wait for the pictures on a forum.

But the other things I've seen so are are so inspiring, fun, and yes, even wonderful!

Yea, I like that Bob likes to show off his equipment, but hey, what about that smartypants Karl, he lends a hand to Bob and thus gains use of the equipment himself! Genius!!! It is actually alot like watching a soap opera unfold!

                hehehe......
