I know you just can't wait and have to tease us all a bit. Looks good enough to eat that is for sure. The aromas of pear and plum together that much more appealing. Your room must smell like an orchard in the early fall when the windfalls and early ripers have fallen and starting the natural degradation process. At least you do not have to worry about the wasps? Cheers DAW take care.

        No wasps in England?

I cut the neighbors' pear tree down in the spring because the pears fall to the ground and rot and attract lots of wasps and bees and I am deathly allergic and the kids (ours and neighbors) play close to it. I hated it, but well you know, safety first and all that.

Nice colors you got going there Bob.

Pear and Damson both in secondary now

started a second run on the combined pulp, added tannin, sugar syrup, and tartaric acid

          see what comes of it.

We do but do you know I haven't seen that many this year at all, although what we call wasps you guys call yellow jackets.

              regards

I gotta agree..it has been a lean year for wasps round our area.

Most years I have found at least 10/12 nests, this year I have only got 4 in the freezer..

guess I'll have to use them sparingly.

                    I'm serious !!!

I collect all the wasp nests I can find

As an angler, wasp grubs are bigger, softer and juicier than normal bluebottle maggots and chub go crazy for them.
the nest itself is crumbled up and used as groundbait.
