The brewing stage is finished. Starting SG was 1.09, finish at 0.995 (if someone would be so good as to work out the alcohol I would be very grateful). Smells lovely. Busy degassing with a long spoon at the moment then wait for it to fall clear.

A fraction under 13%, assuming no significant topping-up:

            (1090 - 995) / 7.36

edited as manage to get some today...just about to start! Also any idea how long each stage takes just so I know!! (sorry baby wine maker!)..also just put the sugar in but the level is just below (ie 1.10 as opposed to 1.08 me thinks) so do I add more sugar? Pressume so but didnt want to add before I was certain! will try and find some answers on here meanwhile!

                            Hi guys,

I know this thread ain't been looked at for w while but thought I'd comment anyway. Started a batch of the raspberry, cranberry n elderflower wine last Wednesday (4 days ago) and already its down to 1.00 .

That's faster than most of my others, no complaints though - can't wait to try this stuff..

I'll let y'all know how it goes.

                              Good stuff
Sometimes a batch just kicks off and finishes

I haven't tried this type.... but did a Lemon and Ginger Twinings tbag wine, following this methodology
