This year is my first year of making wine. In fact I've been at if for a month so, apart from some "turbo" cider, I've yet to taste any of it.

How much am I making? I don't know but I've made 1 gallon of the afore mentioned cider. I've got 1 gallon of mead still fermenting, 1 gallon of strawberry wine (if I can get it restarted), 1 gallon of wine #1 clearing and 1 gallon of wine #1 just started at the weekend.

When my first #1 is finished I'm going to start a wine #2

Degassed the wine #1 this evening and accidently poured myself a glass, bit dry for my taste, and will probably back sweeten to medium dry, but it tastes gooood... much better than I expected

Don't know why but I was expecting my first wine to be a disaster but I'm glad to be proven wrong. It was the 3rd wine (the strawberry one) thats the disaster!!

                  Saturday:
                  started 1 gal simple mead
started 1 gal tinned mandarin & sultana
                  racked & degassed 1 gal wine no.1
                  racked & degassed 1 gal wine no.2

                  sunday:
started 1 gal ancient orange mead
                  prepared 1 gal jam wine
bottled a DJ of a white kit which I finished a few weeks ago

                  monday:
started 7 litres christmas pudding wine (supposed to be a gallon, but sky-high SG forced a bit of dilution)
yesterday's 1 gallon jam wine became 7 litres (exactly the same reason - I think I need a new calculator!)

I still have a gallon of sour cherry & red grape, wine no.4 and 5 gallons of a modified Duffbeer recipe to start.

                  ... after a rest

Well, some of it just sort-of happened. I also made the mistake of thinking that starting several wines in one batch would be quicker than starting them one at a time.

Less than 8 months of the year gone and I am up to 51 gallons. Looks like it's going to be 75 - 80 gallons for the year.

Started on fathers day,June I think?
2 gall cabernet sauvignon thats what got me started
                              2 gall rice & raisins
                              1gall coffee
                              1gall blackberry
2 gall strawberry one looks not so good as I used raisins this changed the colour.
                              1gall blackcurrant
And I am about to start another rice and raisins & a coffee.
The rice & raisins makes 2 gall as what is left from the first mash is used to start another with extra sugar and other usual bits, the second batch has almost gone (light and very tasty)
The first part of the batch has taken two months to get to SG 0.996 and clear from 1.120 16%+.
I could have never done any of this without the help from all that have answered my questions on this forum thank you all very much.

                              Terry
