Here's a picture of what I mean with the marmelade jar. It's better to have a lid with a small hole pierced into it, but you'll see what I mean.

Both are the murky left-overs of the bottom of the demijohn.

Great idea. I shall have to print out all of these tips or I will forget them.

They will soon become second nature. Don't worry, you've got a lot of people to remind you of these types of things.

                    • tops for water bottles

Hi have you looked on e-bay for the tops for the water bottles. I got two blue tops with the hole already in with cromets and bubblers. They also fit the 5 litre squash bottles as they are the same as the water ones.
Not sure how to put a picture on here.

Well I have had a look through about 15 pages of home brew equipment but didn't see those.

They may have sold out. Do you have the sellers user name please? I assume they were in the brewing section.

                        • They sell the bottle tops and grommets here for 50 pence each

If you’re looking for the Art of Brewing website, please note, it’s moved to this location. Love Brewing has all the Art of Brewing products and more. Enjoy!

No guarantee the cap will fit the screw top on the Asda bottles though, but the grommets will obviously fit any!

Phone them during the week - they wouldn't get many sales charging postage like that, not for small items.

                              regards
