Start with a cooler then take out the drain cock. Replace the drain cock with a 1/2" water tight electrical conduit fitting.

    Ball valve and hose

Next thread on a 1/2" ball valve. Thread on a 1/2" nipple. Slide your 5' drain hose on to the nipple. Every thing only needs to be hand tight there is no pressure here so nothing is going to leak and this makes it easier to take apart to clean.

      Tun Filter

You can now put together the filter inside the tun to keep the grain bed out of the sparge. I used a stainless steel braid covered washing machine hose. Cut the ends off the hose and slide back the steel braid covering the hose inside. Pinch a set of vise grips on to the rubber inner hose and using a technique similar to Chinese finger cuffs slide the steel braid off the inner hose buy sliding up the slack and pulling the slack back until you have the steel braid and a rubber hose.

        Assembling filter

Slide the end of the stainless steel braid onto the end of the water tight fitting. and use one stainless steel clamp to fasten the stainless steel hose in place. Fold the other end of the stainless steel braid onto it's self a few times and clamp that with another stainless steel clamp. Do not use anything but a plastic zip tie or a stainless steel clamp regular steel will corrode and react to the acids in the wert and ruin your beer.
