Definitely don't filter individual bottles - it will take an age and a lot of faffing about.

Not sure why Zeb said to leave it for a few weeks, he will have a good reason no doubt and will shoot me down in flames, but personally I'd bottle it straight away. You haven't that much time and 'bottle shock' will be recovered from that much quicker.

Correct, empty all the bottles into a suitable container, filter and bottle straight away. Bottle shock should subside within 1 - 2 months.

        My bad..

Didn't pick up on the fact there's a deadline on this wine

The only bit that registered on my alcohol fueled brain was filtering and dropping sediment. So it seemed logical to give it a while to settle before filtering.

I just splashed out on a harris filter today £18.50 i'm glad the gf enjoys my new hobby

I have 5 gallon of bob's wine number 1 clearing, i added kwik klear 2 days ago and its totally clear its looking so lush my best result since i started wine making Anyway i have my gf's dad's birthday party on wed and thought i could maybe test out my new harris filter with it on tuesday before i bottle it for the party, do you think i would see an improvement to the already clear wine number 1 and would it take long to filter 5 gallon ?

It doesn't take too long to filter 5 gallon, if its clear.
If there is a haze to it, then it can take longer.
You will see a difference, to it, even though you say it is clear now.

Thanks spritzer looking forward to trying it, like a kid with a new toy.

Does 1 pad do 5 gallon?

Yeah.... if it is relativly clear it will.
If you have a cloudy/hazy wine you may need more...
But I have only ever had to use one with 5 gallons... so far

Although, I would filter one day, then bottle the next...
Just in case the filtering does take longer than you expect

You will see a big difference in your filtered wine, it will look more polished. 5 gallons of clear wine will pass through the filter in around 45 mins.

I don't know how i coped before I got the bottle tree and the pump for blasting the bottles with sulphite, both are must have items in my opinion.
