          Haha you'll liek this Rich,

This morning i was woken up to a short burst of BLUB BLUB BLUB
You see for some reason my young's fermentation bin lets the CO2 off all in one burst (no idea how or why) So the bubbles come out at a huge rate and then die - 20 seconds later more bubbles come out lol.

          Quite noisy actually

Worse things to be woken up by though

The best way to use your primary (bucket) is to lay the lid on the bucket (don't snap it down). No "bloop bloop" and the Co2 protects the must. The point of the lid at this stage is to keep flys and other contaminants out. When fermentation dies down, that's when you need to get it under an airlock (into a carbouy) as there is less Co2 to protect the wine.

I would guess that the irregular 'bloops' are because the container flexes before the gas has enough pressure to force its way past the airlock.

I Did write quite a long post on this subject. The lid does rise and fall like some sort of diaphragm, causing the long burst, followed by a pause.

I even measured the height difference, and calculated the volume.

And yes, comments were passed re: getting out more, not having better things to do etc.
