    Finally, another update.

Sorry I haven't been online much (or at least present on the forum), but it's been a busy last 3 months....

I've started my argentinian malbec tonight (thanks to Father Christmas!), and I am soooo pleased to how it smells.

I bottled the Chateau du Roi tonight: 24 750-ml bottles, 16 189-ml bottles.

The Alsatian Riesling was far too much degassed, but it will come around, I am sure.

I racked the Foraging wine tonight, will degas tomorrow.

I started a 1-gallon "everything from the garden" wine. Just bits and bats.

So, I've got the bug again!

    Woohoo!

Why do you say "far too much degassed" does a riesling need gas/bubbles in it.
You can tell that I don't drink that many commercial wines.

It is so well degassed it has falen a teeny bit flat (it will recover however)

Commercial wineries quite often inject CO2 to give white wines a fruit lift

Well, the foraging wine is now just a memory.

The everything from the garden wine is in a carboy. The malbec is too.

And, I started another 5 gallons of foraging wine. Thanks to the freezer my sweetie got for me for my birthday.

Okay, you know it's cold outside when your WINE freezes.

Current temp outside 23 deg F.
That's -5 deg C the last time I looked. I think it went down to -8 deg last night. So now I'm thawing it in the kitchen sink. Hope it's not ruined.

alright, racked, filtered and bottled the malbec without breaking any carboys.
racked, filtered and bottled muscat bleu also without breaking any carboys.
racked, filtered and bottled an unknown wine (plastic carboy)
cold-stabilised, racked, filtering (as we speak) merlot from grapefest.

What's left? The never-ending juniper wine and the elderberry juice wine.
Still need to carboyize (bob, that's for you) the foraging wine #2.

                          update:
Bottled Merlot - managed to get 18.5 bottles out of it, and then a bit for me tonight.
Racking Elderberry Juice Wine - might take a while.

While I do this, I'm scrounging for bottles. I thought I had enough!
