To most people solutions mean answers. To chemists solutions are things that are mixed up.

to be honest copied your wine but have lost it. i.e. its in the shed but dont know which one. looking forward to when i find it as you said needs time. for grapefest have 2 gallon pulp fermenting tinned strawberry, with 2 ltr white grape and 2 ltr apple along side 1 gallon wine no1 to which i will add strawberrys at about 1.010. reason for 2 gallons of pulp ferment is i want to try combining methods ie will add more strawberrys to one gallon of the pulp ferment. why cause i can

I have no idea how. No one really does.

I just thought, "ooh, I have a red that is made with fresh grapes. Let me enter it"

Bob actually fermented it and brought it over in a 3 gallon carboy this past christmas. I racked and filtered and bottled it and stored (what's left of) it and just thought I'd try it in the comp.

And it IS a really nice feeling to have won. Usually I get different (i.e. totally opposite) comments than "outstanding."

teehee... Maybe you all should give me your wines to store.... :P

What wine of yours doesn't get oaked

My merlot has had a fair bit of oak, and doesn't taste too bad. Had to remove some the other day as the higher temps had pushed the wine right up to the airlock.

I've oaked my merlot, and it's tasting VERY promising, but I'd like to leave it another 6 months at least to smooth out some more.
The Ciliwotsit stuff I've not tasted yet, so will do that tonight.

Is Grapefest still scheduled for the weekend of the 11th September?
