Update: Added VIRTUAL WINE CIRCLE ALL-IN-ONE ENTRY FORMS, FAQs and INFORMATION FOR THE VWC SHOW IN AUGUST!!!!

Do you want an unbiased opinion on your homemade wine?

Then Join us for the Virtual Wine Circle’s International Wine Competition!
    August 14th 2010
The Grange, Carlton Community Centre, Pontefract

    In conjunction with:
    Pontefract Wine Circle

Entries to be bottled in 250 ml PET bottles with purple tops, and labels will be provided when the bottles are sent. They are available at 30p each (+ P&P) from:

Please email Bob at bob@winesathome.co.uk or PM him at lockwood1956 on the forum!

or send your wine in any bottle available, and we will decant it into the correct bottles (must be done in advance, there will be no time for decanting and labelling on the day, unless you do it yourself )

[See Entrant's Form for a more detailed description] -

    https://www.winesathome.co.uk/downlo...entry-form.pdf

Labels are to be applied centrally and competitor’s name is to be written below the cover up line.

Open class wines to have written above the cover line:
    Major Flavour Ingredient[s]
Style and the Sweetness Level [Sweet, Medium or Dry]

UCDavis marking system employed using a 20 point system so the wine is judged against itself and not against other wines as per standard Show Class rules. This means your wine will not be compared to others in the class but rather judged based on it’s own merits!

    • 18 to 20 awarded Gold
    • 16-17.5 awarded Silver
    • 14-15.5 awarded Bronze
    • 12-13.5 awarded Honourable Mention

Bottles should either be mailed to Bob Morton (see address above) by August 7th or brought to the show and entered on August 14th.

Bottles will not be returned, unless specifically asked and return postage sent to the PayPal account at: vwc@winesathome.co.uk.

Follow us on Twitter at: VirtualWineO where we will be updating live through the day (will also try to webcam the event!!)

I will probably send in the (250ml PET) bottles to Bob at LDC House for decanting locally. Do I just therefore PayPal 40p for each wine and post the entrants forms with the bottles? I assume if I am sending 2 bottles I can put them all in one envelope.

Sorry - the answer is probably obvious I just wanted to be clear.

Sorry that we haven't posted more info on the upcoming show...

this will be done at the latest on the weekend --- promise!

Yes, you can paypal 40p for each wine, 30p for each bottle and post the entrant's forms with the bottles. Of course you can send them in one envelope to LDC House, c/o Bob Morton....

Updated the price of the bottles (they went up by about 10p)....

              So, for POS,

              40p per entry
30p per bottle (even if we aren't sending them to you and decanting the wines for you)
1.75 shipping (if you decide you want the bottles)

              I think that's it!

I have at least two entries (already at Bob's house ) but may have one more. If so, I'll be bringing it with me.
