  • What say ye?, to a formal qualification

Perhaps (in light of recent events) we need to have our own judges?

maybe we should formalise a judges training programme?

    thoughts everyone?

                          HI:

I think this is good in theory, BUT:

I thought you wanted to make the VWC attractive to the various federations who will be hosting the VWC at their shows. If you set up a separate judging qualification program will you not put the old guards backs up?

If the old guard approves the judging system then the challenge is to educate the existing judges who are going to be tasting our wines without 'patronising' them, as well as bringing in new blood.

What you don't want is a split from the national federation leading to a VWC which isn't publicised and showcased at the regional and national competitions and ends up the poorer for it.

If I am wide of the mark then please disregard the above. After all, my only experience of competitions has been on the WAH VWC comps.

                          regards

                          Mark
