  • VWC - February 20, 2011

To prepare for the next virtual wine circle, we would like to post the secretary's notes from January. Participation is key, and we thank all those who stopped by!

Get those brews going for the comp!

Thanks M. Apologies for not being able to stop in - little boy was rather ill over the weekend, so did'nt get much time to myself. Will be back next month, as VWC was one thing i wanted commit to as a resolution in 2011.

Will read the notes now and catch up! ]

      Hello

I'd like to join the VWC if that is possible. I understand that I can join in the next meeting via flashchat but how can I enter the competition in May? I can't get there in person due to a new edition to the army of small children I have that is expected at the end of April.

There are some threads regarding the starting of the VWC and the first competition but I can't see how one gets involved now. Is there an application form/membership fee?

        Hi Rob

Membership is free, and there are no membership forms to fill in. If you want to enter the competition then download the pdf at the top of the page and that will give you instructions....

i will be online later tonight and can tell you more then. (i'm at work just now....shhh)

Just updated the links on the thread bob referred you to....

The download for the competition is now the current version - "All in One" Download.

The tasting sheet is just for you, so you know what the judges are judging with.

Jacob's Creek Semillion is the wine of the month we're testing.

Do you have your Winetasting wine yet?

Where did you get it and what did you pay for it?

                  Don't forget:
                  Jacob's Creek Semillion Chardonnay

                    I've got mine

When we chose this wine at the last VWC meeting, it was £6.99 per bottle. Tesco have dropped it to £4.99, which makes this a bargain (although results to be seen of course!). Here's the link:

                    http://www.tesco.com/groceries/Produ.../?id=255244770

The reduction is on until 22 Feb, so the timing is perfect

It has taken me 3 attempts to find this Semillon Chardonnay as it was not available in my usual supermarkets. I finally found it this morning in Sainsburys in Sherborne for £6.99.

Sainsburys now 5 and Tesco 4.99 if I've got the right wine.

                              Yes that's the right wine
It's taking all my willpower to not open it though
