    I worry about setting everything up then training the vines for the next three years and it being a waste of time, maybe i'm just too paranoid!

      I think it depends what your expectations are and whether you can afford to punt the money on a bit of a chance... Or, if your serious about setting up a bit of a mini vinyard and want to be assured of quality (which will come at a slightly higher price of course)...

      There's no doubt you've got the climate for these to grow though... My advice would be to think about what you want first, then take the most appropriate action... Even if these did turn out a bit naff, you'd still learn a lot on the way and could then commit to investing more in some quality vines...
