    Brian,

I know it's a little early (sticking my head out here!!), but any early news on varietals available plus approximate costings? Just so i can get my ducks in a row (see what i did there!!) in regards to making sure i've got the dosh available to cover what i want to buy.

    Ta chap!

    Dave.

It's always nice to see enthusiasm, and I have to say it's been on my mind but there is no news of course let

I am sure there will be the usual suspects.

      • Montepulciano (later crop - fuller red generally drier than Merlot)
      • Sangiovese (earlier - thinner wine)
      • Trebbiano (yuk)
      • Giliegiolo (quick small harvest - better than Sangiovese IMO)
      • Merlot (my fave)

There MAY also be some infrequent flyers..

      • Primitivo (sometimes - big wine - skinny cases)
      • Tempranillo (blend the two Spanish for Rioja)
      • Grenache (low acid & colour but quantities are good)

There is never any real news until early days of September. Things like: harvest dates - Vintage - what - when - price - quality.
A slightly later date in September for GF should offer the opportunity of better/more variety of grapes.

But as soon as I know anything I will pass it on.

That pretty much looks like my wish list

Brian, can you freeze to order? I can only cope with fermenting a certain volume of so many different varietals in one go. If you can get 8 grape varieties, I would like to ferment all 8 but not at once.

I can't see why not - providing we have enough uptake sure thing.

Is there a minimum order on the grapes? How many boxes of each would be required to be enough uptake?

There isn't a minimum order as such, but what I must do is incorporate them into larger batches - for lots of reasons, which adds to the variables of - quality - cost - availability and time.

I have already acquired more freezer space

Great news! If you have the variety, and stocks last into next summer, I will probably not do kits next year and only do frozen grapes.

I am also designing a chest freezer 'rack' (bolts and fence posts)
