  • What would you most like to hear a talk/see a demo of at Grapefest 2013?

So I can be sure people get the most from the experience what would you like to learn more about or see a demonstration of?

Bear in mind that there will be lots of experienced bodies around to talk to about the whole process throughout the day/afternoon/evening and of course the curry the night before, and the lazy sunday picking up your kit before you head off home

This event just seems to get better every year...

    come join in the fun

(there is a quite laargw elderberry and bramble patch to the rear of my property too if you wish to harvest whilst here)

    regards

I would also like to ask.....

Does anyone have a talk or demo they would like to deliver?

It would be nice to have one beer talk/demo and one wine talk/demo

            Becoming a wine judge....
A group session on the the taste training using sugar, acid and tannin solutions.

I could offer a beer talk but others on here might know more by the time grapefest comes because I don't do much beer any more...

Yes that would be a great talk

The only things I would feel comfortable doing talks on would be things like the use of exotic materials in the aerospace and oil and gas industry or the programming and operation of computer numerically controlled lathes and I don't really think either would be relevant.

How about 'degassing - the definitive guide'? This will obviously degenerate into a full-on group argument after 5 minutes

If we are doing fiction, I could do a ghost story

With only 145 days to go, the front runner is educating your palate with the various solutions. Degassing might be a good one too

What else might be useful do we think, and how about something about beer?

                          volunteers please!

                          regards

Being slightly more serious. Is it worth having a buy-sell-swap table ?

I for one have a fistful of hydrometers, the temperature controller, an sc-200 and some other bits and pieces that I could make a start with :-)

I also have a 5 foot barrel if anybody's interested, but I fear it might be a little too big for the tabletop ?
