  • Honey, where do you get yours?

Been making meads sucessfully now for a couple of years but generally I have been using budget honey's from tesco's asda'a and icelands, but at a minimum of £1.24 it can be a little expensive, So I was wondering where people get there bulk honey's from?

Try your local beekeepers association (google bee keepers) theirs is not the cheapest, but the quality is generally fantastic.

I have a tap on the side of each of my hives. Works wonders!

One of my neighbours is a beekeeper and grape grower. I make his wine he pays in Honey - come to think of it I make his mead to!

PS the results for my syrup mead will be out soon :-)

I keep bees also, very entertaining past time although one of my hives perished without explanation this winter. I have made a batch of mead currently only 4 weeks old so needs a good ageing yet.

Paynes in Hurstpierpoint (search for Paynes southdown beefarms).

Not the biggest range but enough to keep me happy in the main.
