  • REVIEW: Zevro sugar dispenser

I have always primed my bottles with sugar rather than batch priming.
This IMO saves an extra racking, but more importantly once it is done, you can give the bottle a good shake to mix the sugar which creates a fizz and test the seal.

BUT spooning out accurately 40 half teaspoons was ripe for improvement.

Initially these were a little tricky to get hold of, but are now available on eBay. Expect to pay £10.

The unit is easy to clean, it comes with a variety of different measures which are easily changed.

    Pro's ...
    Very accurate measuring
    Much quicker
Holds enough sugar for a full run.
1/4 tsp is spot-on for less fizzy real ales.
1/2 tsp is spot-on for wheat beers.

    Con's....
It runs much better on caster sugar to granulated
It doesn't have a funnel nailed to the bottom (yet) which would make easier delivery

I have done a 4 maybe 5 batches with one of these now and would score it 8.5 / 10.
