  • Breet root & Grapes ? ? ?

    Question

I have done a second brew when I have a large amount of wine brewing at the same time, but only mixed fruit with other fruit.

I have 12lbs of grapes making 2 gal of wine and about 6 lbs of beet root making one gal.

I boil the beetroot and use the juice to make the wine, I freeze a lot of the beet root to eat but I can not freeze it all, can I mix what is left with the grape to brew on?

You could, but wouldn't the earthiness of the beetroot detract from the more delicate flavours of the grape?

I don't know, that is why I am asking

I just thought it would help the colour

      Thanks

You are diluting the grape juice, so check your SG - and adding some sugar.
