Thanks Mamgi, I'm pleased as punch with it, I can get organised and start bulk ageing, cos when it's bottled it just tempts me to open them But I also know my wife has been rather patient with the mess and clutter over the past four months or so, not just that but the constant flow of empty bottles from friends and family which she delabeled and cleaned. I have another room down there of about the same size which I hope to make use of shortly, maybe clad with wine racks and use for storage.
I even have a nice cool spot for the lager at the bottom of cellar steps, easy to replenish your glass and nice n cool. Life is good.

Well Ive been taking a few pics this morning and it got me thinking how much things have progressed in just a year.

Here's where I keep my beer, the ones in the Stella crates are for drinking, the ones with the yellow tags are for competitions. The bottles in the rack are clean and ready to be filled.

        A few bulk aging...

        A few more bulk aging.....

Dunno how I missed reading this thread. Well done Karl, quite an improvement in a short time. Quite a bit of quaffing to be done there, let me know when you need a hand.

Will do mate, your welcome anytime... well maybe not at 3 in the morning.
The reason I did out the cellar was to let the wife have her utility room back and clear d/j's from around the house....which didn't quite work out that way.

Well at least Ive been thoughtfull and allowed her access the washer etc,

And I'm sure these aren't in the way

Oooo and then I forgot about the ones by the back door.

I think a whole new stategy and house move would have to happen before I got even close.

Thanks DAW it sure will be a merry house at xmas, as for hopes on the medal podium I'm hoping to do well with a parsnip some elderflower, apple & blackcurrant and orange mead which should be nicely aged for the first show in March, other than that I tend to enter things on a pot luck basis. The wines I think will do well generally don't and the ones I'm unsure of surprize me and do well, but hey it's all good fun and usually a great weekend out at the comps.

I agree, it didn't do a thing cos it tastes of PARSNIP would you believe, maybe I should mask it with citrus flavours

Seems odd that Bob has dug up this old thread...

                            18th November to April!!

May be he was searching for parsnip wine recipes??

Or just checking on no one was talking about parsnips!

Wouldn't surprise me if he put the word parsnip in the swear filter
