    I'd like to try that but my lady doesnt like oaked wine, have to avoid chardonnay cos it makes her ill. So buying a chardonnay is always a safe bottle for me
    I'll try a batch with oak next time. Cheers.

      Just as a quick note here, I have slightly adjusted the main recipe for this, after resting for a while I found the acid level a little low, hence the reduction of citric acid but the addition of tartaric and malic acids (blend) also I found it to be a little high in alcohol so reduced the sugar addition to reach a starting gravity of 1.080 rather than 1.090. Hopefully this should make it a much better balanced wine. (not that it ever prevented me drinking it)
