I "think" layering will work best.....

take a 3 inch pot of compost and bury the tip of the bine in it, it should root.

      see here

has anyone successfully tried to re-root cuttings from hop plants? general consensus is to trim back all but the most vigorous bines for the season. i am going to try to use a rooting powder/chemical to keep these cuttings alive and create "new" hop plants. i will be sure to keep you guys...

Be careful where you plant them. I've wild hops growing around my garden boundaries and if planted close to paths you might brush bare skin against the stems (which as they mature develop hairy spines) causing a nasty red swollen rash.

And you'll get matted mass of roots under them similar to under an established nettle patch.
