Muntons Irish Stout kit. Shop gave my son and his mate a stick of licorice and told him to add a small piece to each bottle for secondary fermentation. Is this correct? I thought it should have gone into the wort at the start. I would be grateful for any advice as to when to add it, how much to add and should it be grated, boiled, or just thrown in.
