Messing around today and decided to start a fruit beer...

Took 1 1.3kg brewmart dutch lager tin of extract
    1lb honey
    1/2 ox hallertau hops
    1/2 oz goldings hops
    2 cans apricots

Boiled the extract with the hiops for 1 hour (added the honey too)

when boil is finished I will put in FV and add the fruit (mashed) along with 4 tsp pectic enzyme (can't be too sure) pitch yeast when temp reaches 70F

who knows where fate may take us? I'm hoping for a 4 gallon batch (splitting with Karl)

        Bob;

How big was the Ox you used to measure the Hallertau?

And do you think that there will be too much for that size of batch? I am sure that that amount of hops will absorb all the liquid.

Sitting in a cool air conditioned room in Santa Rosa now.

I do hope that this one turns out well for you. Themix sounds great, and I think you may forego the peaches in future.

Has anyone thought of adding lime like some of the commercial breweries are doing ? I like a wedge of lime in my bottles of Corona.

The one and only time I had a fruit beer was a raspberry one, and I thought it was , so now I only stick to the no added fruit variety.

How does the fruit beer progress Bob?

it'll be in secondary now I suppose -- you had a cheeky taste yet??

                              Yikes

forgot to update this (it was only a year ago) the beer turned out well, and is a hit with all who tasted it, it also took a couple of minor places at shows, very pleased with the outcome, and will definately make it again.

                              regards
                              Bob
