  • Hi ya, I'm new to this forum but am also on a couples of others, I hope you don't mind. I'm even on another Brit one. I'm from the New Jersey in The USA. I've been making wine for a few years and I like making, drinking and talking wine. I've make a few fruit wines but mostly I use grape juice. Not a connoisseur, just a hobbist.

        • opened a bottle of last years elderflower tonight,it went down so well taht i cant help asking what you are up to and how has it gone down?hoping you have had as good or better results than we have had. (ours have pleased me and encouraged me enormously).
To most people solutions mean answers. To chemists solutions are things that are mixed up.
A fine wine is a fine wine, 1st time may be by accident, 2nd time is by design - that's why you keep notes.

i did the same last year and tried it after 3 months then 6 as it was yuk, then stuck it in back of shed, but after 30 month has been declared as one of the best by wife. it was so bad when young have made vitually no pure elderberry this year, but lots of elderberry with bramble. so just put the elderberry away for a year and enjoy the wine no1 and varients, you will be very pleased

                  • Hi Everyone

My names Dale I live in South Wales and I have been brewing wine (Seriously) for about 2 years so not long.
My family have been brewing for years and i picked up a bit but im loving it.

I love to pick my own fruits and things in the summer months to make my own wine, I dont think there is anything more satisfying.

I do make a lot of juice wines as im a bit impatient but, IM currently brewing the following.

Blackberry and sloe -- Maturing x 5 gallons
Elderberry and blackberry -- Mturing x 4 Gallons
Various juice wines to fill up the wine rack -- x7 gallons.

I love making my own wine and love it more when someone compliments me on a glass. Expect a lot of posts from me because Im mad about this subject

Good to be here, oh this is me down below by the way HIYA

Thats one below that of me and my beautiful wife who loves to drink my brew quicker than I can make it lol

                          Hi All,
Returned to wine making after a 25yr break. I started with my dad at 15 yrs old. The new kits are amazing, unfortunately I have now stopped drinking, but the rest of the family appreciate my efforts.

All maturing. Great to find no 1 recipe 3 gal on the go soon be able to drink somthing i've made, patience running thin. Already gone through 3 gal of turbo cider to keep me going.

                                1 gal pear (fresh)
                                2 gal rhubarb (fresh)

                                2 gal apricot (tinned)
                                1 gal blackberry (fresh)
                                Fermenting
                                2 gal no 1 (original)
                                1 gal no 1 cranberry/raspberry
                                2 gal grapfruit (tinned)
