Check all your kits Duff. Last fall RJS had a whole series of Pinot Noir start to ferment in the bladder. This is not a thing that happens too often but it does ocassionally. I think it comes from kit companies striving to produce wines that taste more comercail avoiding the kit taste. I think that is done with less heat so the sugars do not become poymerized therefore kits become more vunerable to wild yeast. Just my theroy.

Well, the delivery driver now has a hernia

His guess was 'car parts'. He was a bit surprised that wine kits weigh that much.

        Cheers Karl :

Well, My South African Shiraz has been racked off and waiting patiently in it's better bottle for a while now, so this weekend it got filtered and bottled. Which meant I could have a sneaky taste. Still very young as to be expected, good hint of oak in there, not much else at present. No off flavours though. It'll now sit in the rack for a while.

                Thanks again Karl!

Mr Duffbeer, do you have any heavy red kits of this type left?

I think they are pretty much done now, but the winexpert selection series are very good if your wanting a big red.
