I've already been told that the laptop positively will be staying home while we are vacationing.... and no internet cafes either. What's a man to do? I guess I will just have to hang out at the beach, look at the young ladies in skimpy swimwear, and drink.Steve

... or an iPhone, so you can get on Twitter at the same time
This sunday - I won't be able to attend any informal VWC thing I'm afraid. I'll be driving back from NorfolkPete the Instructor
It looks like Phil Donahue throwing up into a tuba

So.....
Sunday 20th June at 7.30pm (UK time)
topics for discussion:
1. VWC Comp - what was good, what was bad
a. Classes? We are thinking of an open beer class and a rootbeer/ginger beer class. Your thoughts?
b. Bottle shipments? Were they okay the way we did it, or would it be easier for you to send your bottles in anything and we do the rest? (saves on shipping the bottles out on one hand, but prevents you seeing your wines in a "finished" package, etc.)
2. VWC Meetings - how we should continue
a. Topics that should be discussed?
b. Everyone okay with the choice of time/date?
c. Future meetings.
3. VWC Future Comps - how many, restrictions?
a. Perhaps limit the classes that are available so that we have one or two "big shows" a year?
4. VWC Volunteers! We need you!
a. Are you willing to step up to the plate? We can help!
5. GrapeFest - When, where, why and how.
a. well, we know WHY!
b. Would you like a talk on a certain aspect of winemaking?
c. Should it be more structured?
d. Were you missing something from last year?
6. VWC - yearly dues (which might include all shipping fees, entry fees, processing fees (which means paypal fees and packaging, fuel, and printing costs, just for the comps)....
a. This is a tough one for us. We were thinking in the range of about 10 quid per year. What do you think?
I know this is a lot to digest, but we'd love to have you prepare for it, so we can cover most, if not all, topics.
The Virtual Wine Circle has created an incredible buzz among the 'traditional' wine circles (especially the fed), but we need to be a force in numbers for the next one. We made over 10% of the entries that were entered in the show total, so I think it was a great success...
The only faulty wines were mine.
Perhaps, in the "open talk" of it all, if you have questions about the comments, we can ask it... Or start posting your comments here... . (i.e. what exactly does "stemmy" mean)....
