Hello. I'm fairly new to the forum and have been reading up a bit on the VWC. When attending, is it simply a case of picking up a bottle of the wine, grabbing an empty glass and connecting to the session?
I'm looking forward to my first attendance of this

I suggest you print out 2 of them, try one on your own, then one with the group. You might want to try the sheet out with a glass of your own wine tonight, just to get familiar with the wording and descriptors....
Yes, AquaCom, that's the right wine.
Can't wait to see you all there!

Excellent - an excuse to drink more wine this evening. Better get 2 bottles then.
So at least I can tell my good lady its's all in the name of research

I also want to chat about Grapefest and Pontefract Open show "perhaps" (its only a possibility at the moment) being on the same weekend as the hall we normally hold the show at has double booked for 13th Aug, so we could move Ponte show to the same weekend as grapefest (Sept 10th)
if we didn't do that, we would seek an alternative venue (already found)
so would welcome everyone's thoughts
regards

Of course we'd like to talk about the VWC Wine Competition on May 13-15 in Scarborough.
Is any VWCer planning to attend in person? (Don't forget! Fancy Dress!!!!! - most likely "famous couples" (or perhaps cartoon characters). A day of winemaking, learning, and a night of dancing, fun, and lots of laughter!)
How are your wines coming along?
Is there something you'd like to see that wasn't done in the past?
And anything else you'd like ask?
How's the tasting sheet working for you?
-- So far as it stands:
-- White Open
-- Red Open
-- Beer Open
-- Ginger Beer / Under 18's.
