Here is your chance to have your wines assessed by a National Wine judge, and detailed feedback sent to you afterwards.
the last time we ran it....(at Ponte open show) it was a huge success!
I will post you the labels for the wine competition
There will be three classes:
Red dry (the wine needs to be Red and dry)
please write in the box provided (marked "class")..Red dry
White dry (the wine needs to be white or golden coloured and dry)
please write in the box provided (marked "class")..white dry
Write your name below the line marked "cover line" and what the wine is i.e. No1..or..youngs chardonnay
the wines will be judged as per normal wine competition, where 6 places will be awarded
and an Open class, where you may enter anything.
Please write in the box provided (marked "class") which class you are entering that bottle into, and then below the line that says "cover line" write your name and what the wine is, and the sweetness level (if you arent sure of the sweetness level, then write the SG on the lable below the cover up line)
i.e. mead dry....rose medium, red sweet, port
this is so we can arrange them in the order in which they will be judged (driest first, and lightest first)
the wines in this class will be judged using the UCDavis 20 point system, where the wine is awarded marks out of 20 and awarded gold, silver, bronze and honourable mention.
(marking sheet attached) order of judging is normally white dry, red dry, white medium, red medium, white sweet, red sweet etc etc
so in this class the wine isn't competing against other wines, it is merely being evaluated and given a score. This works well for you if you make "unusual" wines that dont fit competition criteria.
Will try to give everyone who enters as much feedback as possibl afterwards.
please join in the fun...
if you havent signed up for VWC yet, please do so, it will be fun.
if you need bottles then drop me a PM and I will get them to you ASAP
send filled bottles to:
