Was in Aldi yesterday and spotted their fruit juices and thought I'd pass it on. Their red and white grape was a 85p a litre and this is apparently not from concentrate. Also their apple & elderflower was 65p and white grape & peach was 75p.
Picked up 8 of the red grape to add to 3 waitrose Merlot that a friend got cheap for me, 50p ish, (sadly it's hit and miss if he can get it
and is limited to 6). Comparing the two the merlot is a lot darker than the aldi and you can taste a difference, to be expected, but the aldi did taste nice so we'll see how the end product turns out.
So I pitched all 11 into my fermenter and topped it up to 19 litres and will add some more liquid to 22 litres after the initial ferment. Since the aldi grape won't have all the flavours of the merlot I'm thinking of topping up with a litre of black cherry, a litre of black current and a litre of water.
