  • I've been enjoying alot of French wine lately since coming to the UK , its alot cheaper here than in Canada .

Trying some of the other regions , Cahours , Corbiere , Cote du Rhone , Beugolais village
I'm kind of bored of Cabernet Sauv and Merlot so its fun trying anything but bordeau.

I've been drinking mostly Italian Whites , interesting local varieties and the quality of the winemaking is much better these days. you can even find really good soave . and italian whites are good value too.

going to move into Portugese wines next.

      • A Beaverdale Vieux Chateau Du Roi for me this evening.

My 2nd ever kit wine. It's taught me the art of patience. After ageing it for 6 months I really wasn't impressed, but a further 6 months on and it's a totally different wine. Slipping down a treat

                          • My wife received a bonus today from her work, so she surprised me with a bottle of Bordeaux, a 2000 Chateau Bouscaut from Pessac-Leognan. She says it wasn't terribly expensive, but it's quite nice.

It has that cigar box nose that good French wines seem to have. I'm not 100% certain, but I think that particular aroma comes from the Cabernet Franc in the blend. Good stuff!
