tonight im sipping on a 2007 apple/elderflower medium sweet

not much of this left...its been a good wine, taken me several prizes.
Hmmm, more and more i come to the conclusion that most people on this forum like drinking medium / off dry wines.

Dont get me wrong - each to their own and all that. It would be interesting to see a straw poll of peoples tastes; just for being nosey . . .

Damn, this Riggwelter has gone to my head.

And yes, one could call it a "medium sweet" ale . . .

    • To be fair I thought the majority was dry...

Then again, I prefer mine really strong and sweet...

It's only my opinion but I don't really see the point in drinking something that makes you more thirsty, I mean in the "need for water" sense, not using it as an excuse to drink more

            • Crabbie's Original Alcoholic Ginger Beer.

Love it. Love it. Love it.

"For more than two hundred years Crabbie's has shipped its ginger from the Far East - following in the pioneering footsteps of the first Scots Merchant Adventurers - hence our distinctive Elephant Trade Mark.

Following a secret recipe, the steeped ginger is combined with quality ingredients and matured for 8 weeks to release a deliciously distinctive flavour".

              Hmmmmm. Elephants.

have you tried making your own ginger beer?

                try this...

OK For VWC comps we decided we would add a ginger beer, so you could involve your children or grandchildren, and introduce them to the wonders of fermentation. Martina posted a tutorial for a ginger beer which works extremely well at home, however, it needs toi be drunk very early as there is still residual sugar present, and

you may need to up the sugar for more alc though.

                or Martinas version here:
Even though you can look at the shelves in any supermarket and find various brands of ginger ale, making your own creates an entirely different (and remarkably better) taste. Here's how to make a 2L bottle of fresh ginger ale straight from the ginger. It's also a great way to spend time with your children, teaching them the

                      • I had a Jan 2011 elderberry which is the first elderberry which I thought could hold it's own against a grape wine. Then onto a kenridge merlot 2011 (2 months old) which needs another 6 months at least but was v quaffable.

                        cheers hic
