  • Just me again?

    Sangiovese Rosé.

This is from Grapefest 08's grapes - I drew off a gallon from the Sangiovese red after about a day, used D47 yeast and batonnaged it to death.

Even though I say so myself ..... effing awesome.

One of my best. In an hour I'm going to ruin it by pouring several pints of beer on top of it down the local.

        • Had beef burgundy sausages and mash for dinner. Washed it all down with an inexpensive Louis Latour Pinot Noir.

Now finishing some leftover Cab from Easter weekend.

                    • Tonight, we have a glass (bottle) of Goldseal's Lychee wine. Kindly given to me on Sunday morning

Unfortunately, It's being drunk alongside a commercial bottle of Gewürztraminer from Tesco's (it wasn't going to be, but they had a pound off, and I like the Alsace bottles for my lychee wine)

It is very nice, has a nose of lychee's, isn't unpleasant on the aftertaste at all.

Very nice bottle of wine Pete, it is now empty, as is the commercial one

I never said 'it isn't to my taste'

It's good. Really. I've nearly finished my glass of it!!

The only comment, was 'what is the alcohol content of this one! wow'

                          • I reckon it's around 13%.

Maybe a little on the hot side?

                            • Would have opened a bottle of blackcurrant made year before last, unfortunately I'd drunk it all and given some away

Oh well, have to make some more this year from the homegrown blackcurrants

It came out at about 20% when I'd finished it, really nice flavour too
