  • Probably port and lemonade as I finished my last bottle of Chardonnay last night and the Sauvignon Blanc isn't ready (unless it clears really quickly after I add the finings)

If that's a Beaverdale kit, it makes a very good wine for the price. Don't rush the clearing - I normally give mine another week after I think it is clear, and it is surprising how much more drops out.

              • Tonight I finished off the last of Bob's Grenache, and opened a cheap Côte du Rhone. Also discovered a new wine store has opened a mile down the road. I haven't stopped in yet, but it looks like a big place.

then it went to parsnippy and 0rangey blend (very nice experimental thing hic)

finished up with a sweeeeeeeet citrus wine

                      • Well, we had friends around yesterday. Today there is a long(ish) line of empty Raspberry Merlot bottles in the kitchen. Good job it is only 8%

Thanks for the advice, it is indeed a Beaverdale kit. I just added the second lot of finings and will now wait patiently. Well, as patiently as I can. It is in a fermenting barrel with a tap at the bottom so it will be easy to sample some and leave the rest to clear further (I cheated)

                          • Last night a Ltd edition amarone, that was, to be honest, at a year old almost chucked because it seemed slightly oxidised. Last night it delighted with all manner of deep flavours and aromas. (its 3 year old now)

so pleased I waited it out.
