  • Winemaking on the Beeb!

The One Show are coming to my house on Friday 15th May to film a section on winemaking as a hobby.......

I am to make a wine number one, and give the recipe so the viewers (7 million of them) can have a go....then we are having a blind tasting with the presenter (who likes Sancerre) of a commercial Sancerre, a bottle of my beaverdale sauvignon blanc, and a wine number one.....(no pressure then?)

we are then heading out and about to allow the general public to taste test the three wines also.

Will let you know when it will be on the air.

It's been a while in the planning, and nothing was set in stone, so i kept quiet about it till now (well, all the mods knew about it) but got the final phone call today to say its all systems go for Friday, I'm really quite excited, and I'm hoping my enthusiasm for the hobby will rub off on the viewers, and get more people into this wonderful hobby of ours.

watch this space (and the one show)

    regards

Seeing how I don't get "The One Show" (unless it's on the BBC America channel between the countless reruns of EastEnders and The Office), any plans to post it to YouTube or somewhere?

Congrats! A TV star is born!

...but don't let success go to your head. LOL

Looks like it is broadcast online.

The stories that have got Britain talking, and the biggest stars on the famous green sofa.

I advise everyone to grab stuff from Freecycle and eay while they can - I reckon demand is going to go up steeply (but only for a couple of months )

Hobbywine supplies having a big sign put up at your house? Just behind where the filming is happening.

That's a very kind offer, Cash. However, I don't think UK video is compatible with US players. While you (along with the rest of the world) use the PAL system, the US stubbornly clings to the NTSC format.

                              Bob,

How did it all come about?

I have concerns! If 7 million new winemakers emerge...
The supermarkets push the price of fruit juice through the roof?
There will be enough tinned fruit?
What will become of the british hedgerow?
Will you be responsible for the last nail in the 'drink responsibly' coffin?
Will you be safe? It could hurt the wine cartels - Ernest and Julio Gallo might put a hit out on you!!!!

                              On the other hand...
Lakeland may start stocking the steam juice extractors again! and John might get rid of all his 1/2 gallon demis
