Cherry port coming along ok I think. Will get it racked off again this week and test. The last bit of syrup feeding may have left it a little sweet.

Did you make any this year?
Yes, I did, I made two lots slightly differently so I could compare them. Unfortunately we were stupid enough to get my Stepson to dog sit, and a load of his mates drank about a bottles worth out of one of the DJs and I didn't notice for 2 weeks. I wasn't impressed AT ALL, so we'll see if I managed to rescue it or not.
See you at GF11 for sure xxx

    • Today, I assembled my Grapefest Fermentation Heater System - two 55w tube heaters attached to a piece of wood.

I would be happy to bring your bottles back as far as North Dorset. I am only 10 mins from Wincanton if you fancied a trip up the A30 /A303.

Do I hear someone getting ready for bottling comp wines?

                      • My kitchen is currently a frenzy of racking and bottling, and a fair amount of tweaking, in preparation for next weekends Yorkshire federation comp, where Pontefract are defending champions (note to self.....fill in entry form sober next near.......50 entries is a lot to find )

                        • actually it is 48 entries, but am in the three bottles of beer class so 50 bottles in total (plus my VWC entries)

                          • I have a comp coming up next week as well, our local annual "Nouveau" competition. Only wines commenced within the last calendar year are allowed. I'm also judging the non-berry fruit category.

I don't have near as much energy as Bob. I am only entering 2 bottles.

                              Parsnip then?

                              • No parsnip, turnip, catnip, or other "nips".

Most likely apple, rhubarb, cherry, and things that grow in trees, not dirt.
