It's funny how things travel around the world and acquire different names. What you describe is called "Hudson Bay Bread" over here. But it's the same thing. More like a biscuit.

Very much so. I'm a spur-of-the-moment shopper. I go to the grocery with no plan in mind and buy whatever grabs me at that moment. I've come home with very strange things.

i don't like savoury pancakes, they do nothing for me but i've tried heaps and no doubt will try heaps more as folks try to convert me.

my style of pancake is thin, sugar (or honey or maple syrup) and lemon juice.
i'll eat as many as you make, preferably for breakfast - i'll make myself ill stuffing my face with them after a meal!
buckwheat is a recent conversion, jolly good too!
we need no excuse and have them often enough that we dont do pancake day quite often!
