  • So you think you can make wine?

This link came to me via a Decanter newsletter. Have a go at making you own wine and progressing to the next stage.

At the very least it explains some of the winemaking terms & processes if you are not familiar with them (considering we have as much chance of winning the holiday as seeing Billie Piper get her baps out in next weeks Dr Who).

Wine reviews, find the best wines, read the latest wine news, learn about wine tasting and more with Decanter.com

I nailed a gold first time.

Left the name as Cahteau Neuf de Pape

      Good one PC.

I deliberately tried to make a dud and got the thumbs down and 'raspberry'

I then tried again, picking random options and ended up with a gold?!?, I called this - Boo's Special Reservavavavoom.

I got the gold but it wouldn't let me name it.

I got a bronze the first Time, but second time Gold.

          But I really did want

          Extended maceration,
and little lower then usual temperature.

That is what I did, but picked the grapes over ripe, and aged in oak

I picked over ripe, 1 week skin soak, pump over, age in stainless with oak staves.

                  Opps I guess I didn't catch
that Im fermenting My wine for 2 weeks,
but leaving them in contact with the skins for 3 weeks.

2 weeks for toatal fermentation that seems fast for Grape wine.
