I believe you're thinking of Apple-Mango Chutney, which is a good accompaniment. The yogurt sauce is called Raita.

I've sometimes had a Mint-Coriander sauce that's good, too. Though I usually save that one for dipping Chapati or Samosas.

I like a Larger with my curry . Kingfisher if I can get it.

tip with making any curry , get some oil in the pan nice and hot but not smoking then fry your curry powder or paste before adding anything else . This activates the spices. A tip I learned from my parents housekeeper/ cook in Goa .

We grew Ghost Chiles 2 years ago to make superhot curry with, sorry to say I cant tell you guys what it tasted like because when they got ripe the entire plants smelled like some toxic chemical. So we picked them and gave them to friends that said they could eat anything hot. I lost a few friends that year but luckily got rid of most of my ghost peppers. I was even going to make a Ghost Pepper wine, glad I didnt, I would have hated to have to throw away a carboy!! Crackedcork

Spot on. Lassi is fantastic, personally i'd add mango or maybe pineapple to that recipe though And Zac is correct too, just make sure you don't let the spices burn!

You guys can have your lassi. Nope, I'll stick with beer.

Here's an article from the Times of India on properly pairing a curry with brew...

Now I'm just getting hungry again.
