Nothing to do with winemaking I know, but I think a few of us are foodies here as well... So here goes
I have a tatty old knife in the drawer that we have had ages and is very very good - I use it as a bread knife.
I needed another so decided to track down the company have made it.
Granton knives Sheffield
They are the makers of a very unique edge - it is scalloped. The Granton edge.
Their knives are so good, a ham knife makes the best bread knife I have ever found.
I rang them yesterday ordered a couple they arrived 8:00 this morning. I would easily compare them to Victorinox & above.
A better price and British. 10 inch Ham slicer £10 & a 6 inch semi-flexible boning knife (both Granton edge) £7 delivery £5.
The catalogue is a little bit lacking, but the knife, service, delivery and the price is outstanding.
I bet their Newcastle steak knife is absolutely outstanding!!
