I had some of this at a Chinese eatery in Barcelona. Yes it is a lizard, you have to watch out for bits of lizard getting in your glass, very powerful stuff!!National Wine Judge NGWBJ

Lizard, eh. What exactly does it contribute to the brew?
We get some tequila here in the states called Mezcal that has a worm in the bottom of the bottle. According to a Mexican myth, the worm purportedly has aphrodisiac qualities. In my (misguided) youth I once won an "eat the worm" contest sponsored by a tavern. I ate 18 of these guys. Well, 17 and a half really, as I just couldn't down the last bit of one. :munching_
I can't attest to the aphrodisiac part (as I was in a drunken stupor at the time, and "performance" was not an option) but I did come away with $100 for winning the contest.
