  • Coffee wine

Just sampling a glass of coffee wine i made about a year ago. Its as clear as a bell and a lovely colour, sort of amber/golden. Very smooth, and i bet it has a kick! It tastes a little sweet, but not sickly sweet. Think it will benefit from a bit of maturing, if i can keep it that long!
Best thing about this wine is, its easily available all year round, and has to be the easiest wine ever to make! I dont think everyone will like it though!

I agree with you there about the ease of making it Hong. It's one of my favourites.

As for sweetness, I suppose it depends how you like your coffee. I have three sugars in mine so when I make the wine I use a high alcohol yeast and try to get a nice licquer feel to it and I serve it in sherry schooners. Very yummy

Yeah Mamgiowl, i was trying to describe to my workmates this morning but they thought i was mad! The thought of a wine made by coffee? Uurgh! How little they know, its more like a Tia Maria than a wine!

Exactly - and about a tenth of the cost of a 'real' Tia Maria

Might use brown sugar, instead of white sugar....
