Something which may be of interest:

I'm going to try to make a gallon of white merlot, basically by putting a box of merlot through the crusher-destemmer, then pressing the grapes very shortly afterwards. It will probably require a bit of acid, but then I'll make the wine as per a normal white.

I took some of my merlot juice off soon as we got home last year for Rosé. It's very pale, and just tastes hot alcoholic. Might try adding a bit of acid to the next bottle see if that helps. I hope pressing the skins into it too will give it some more flavour.

Right. Have got confimation of Hotel through.....am staying at the Travel Inn by the Xscape (J32 of the M62). Any idea of rough cost of taxi fare from Bob's to there anyone? (Google Maps says the distance is 6 miles) Just so i know how much i have to have left in my pocket after seeing Karl's delights (oo-er)!!!!!
