Big thanks to Karl: my heavy box turned up today as promised. It nearly broke Mr Lush's shoulder again as he carried it indoors for me....

Do you think these Ltd Ed kits can be made up to glass carboy size (23.8l) rather than Better Bottle size (22.7l) with no reduction in quality?

            Hope so.

Mine went in the carboy today, 1.015

I made it up to the size of the glass carboy to start with, with a starting sg of 1.092 ish (from memory..)

Transfered mine last night, sg 1.010, was about 1/2 pint short of a better bottle.
From what I can gather these kits are designed to allow for some top up, obviously not too much but an odd pint should be ok here or there Any more and I'd try to use another wine

                  Ere Karl,

You got any recommends for kits that do a decent clone of either Chateauneuf de Pape or a decent St Emillion ?

                  Cheers

Vieux Chateau Du Roi is WinExperts copy style of Chateauneuf du Pape, Richard S has made this and taken several awards, mind you it is a cracking drop.
As for the St Emilion, I could suggest the Cabrnet Sauvignon/Merlot as a possible close call.
Selection Series are all cracking wines, you'll not be dissapointed.

Most of the big kit wine manufacturers make a version of the Vieux Chateau Du Roi but the WinExpert version is sublime. It is an early drinker and at only 3 months old won a best wine in show award, we necked the last of this stuff at Scarbrough BUT I have another on now which is about ready for the finings adding.
